Model Update 5 – Edwin Finalized!
I got really excited to see the end product of the model, so I wanted to get him done this week. Weel, I didn’t realize I would finish him tonight. So here we go, in all his glory!
Model Update 4 – Meet Edwin!
Last week I got super busy with work, OT, and some other side stuff. This week I had a lot more free time, so I tried to finish my model up. Next is to clean up some weird polyflow I don’t like, and give him hair! Hope you enjoy!
Model Update 3 – FACE!
I’ve realized I’m pretty slow when it comes to faced, so I’m taking my time on this guy. Didn’t have a lot of free time this week, but this is what I got so far!
Model Update 2
Body is pretty much done, and I’ve been randomly sketching out some face concepts. The face will take me a lot longer, but that’s alright, I’m excited to model one.
Modeling Update 1
So, I’ve decided to learn how to model. I’ve been told that modeling and rigging your own character will take you to another level. So why not! Right now it’s just the torso and the legs, the arms in this picture are just there for proportions reasons, next I’ll get those going soon. Also ignore the slight hole in the middle. I haven’t merges the verts in the middle yet. I think my end goal is to rig this so that anyone can use it. I’ll put it up online for a download.
Holy Cow!
Yea, so, it’s been awhile hasn’t it? Miss me? I missed you.
The short version of the post, and I’ll go into more details later.
– Graduated College in May
– Move to California in June for another internship at Imageworks.
– Excepted a job at Blue Sky Studios as a Temp Render TD (Everyone’s so awesome there!)
– Moved to Connecticut in September
– Newest Character TD reel up today! (02-10-2013) Check it out!
That’s about it for me. Enjoy!
Corrective BlendShape Script
I’ve always wanted to write my own corrective blendshape script with what I’ve always wanted in the script. So I did. I took a few things I liked from the scripts that I’ve used, and made my own. Here is a little test I put together. Enjoy!
Face Test 2-4-2012
Worked on the critiques I was given. Right now, I think all my blendshapes are done…but I’m not 100% sure. After I get my blendshapes approved, I’m going to go ahead and work on the on surface controls. Let me know what you think of it so far!
Critiques:
– Brow down needs to fade over more from the top of the eyebrow.
– Smile needs to be rounder on bottom.
– Frown needs curve down more.
– Corners of the mouth are too sharp.
– Chew blendshape.
